Patrick Stefan (musician)
Patrick Groenland (stage-name: Patrick Stefan) is an Irish/Dutch singer-songwriter & instrumentalist.[1]
Patrick has lived in Ireland, Brazil, America & W.Africa[2], citing James Blake, Sufjan Stevens and Irish artists Joshua Burnside & Rachelle Lavelle as musical influences.[3] Patrick's father Jack Groenland (stage-name: Timpada) is a Dutch singer-songwriter, and Patrick's brother Danny[4] is an Irish soul singer.[5]
Groenland has released music as 'Paddy Groenland'[6] and as 'Paj'[7], and is also known from performing with Irish-traditional crossover band Ensemble Ériu[8], Congolese Guitarist Niwel Tsumbu[9], Feather[10] (later renamed Fehdah[11]) & Loah[12], and with Portuguese Eurovision song-writing winner Luisa Sobral.[13]
in 2010 Groenland was a Fulbright[14] Scholar at Berklee College of Music, Boston, studied West African & Global music at The Sibelius Academy, Helsinki and has worked for The Journal of Music.[15]
