Paul Kitching was an English chef, known for being behind the popular 21212 restaurant in Edinburgh, which held a Michelin star for a decade. The restaurant received numerous awards since opening, including the best new restaurant in the UK and a Michelin star between 2009 and 2019.[1]
Kitching was also awarded the Prince Philip medal for services to the catering industry.
Death[edit]
Kitching died on 15th December 2022 aged 61, resulting in tributes and condolences from across the restaurant and hospitality sector.
Australian chef Shane Osborn, who runs Michelin-starred Hong Kong restaurant Arcane, paid tribute to him as a “genius”. Michelin-starred chef Graham Campbell wrote “So sorry for your loss a true legend”, while Tom Kerridge also expressed his sadness.[2]
