Pawar/Bhoyar
Pawar / Bhoyar is a Kshatriya caste. It is an offshoot branch of the Kshatriya Parmar dynasty. Parmar are one of the four Agnivansha or fire-born castes.
Panwar, Pawar, Bhoyar, and Bhoyar-Pawar are all names for Pawars. Pawars primarily communicates in Pawari or Bhoyari. Pawar is derived from the Sanskrit term Pramar. They are primarily populated in the Malwa, Betul, Chhindwara and Wardha region. Mount Abu is the place of there rise. According to historical documents, poetry, and folklore the emperor of Ujjain, Vikramaditya was Panwar. The capital of Emperor Vikramaditya was Ujjain. It remained the capital of the Panwar dynasty for a long time. In about the 11th century the capital was shifted from Ujjain to Dhar by Raja Bhoj of this Panwar dynasty. From this region of Malwa in between 1500 and 1700 about 72 gotras of Pawars reached near Bhoyargad, Devgarh including families in Central India and from there they settled in Betul, Chhindwara and Wardha region [1]. All these 72 gotras are known by the name of Bhoyar community. The population of this 72 Gotra Bhoyar caste in Central India is said to be around 2 lakhs. Pawar or Bhoyar Pawar considers Parmar Bhoj to be a king of there lineage. They considers Maa Gadkalika as their Kuldevi [2].
