Payam Khanlarkhani (February 13, 1980) is an Iranian Taekwondo coach who is the current head coach of the National Para Taekwondo team of Iran. Khanlarkhani is best known as the head coach of Shahrdari Varamin taekwondo team, the best team in taekwondo premier league of Iran. Since 2017, Khanlarkhani has served as the head coach for the National Para Taekwondo team of Iran. In 2015, he worked as the head coach of Georgia National Taekwondo Team.


Personal life

Khanlarkhani was born and raised in Varamin where he attended Taekwondo. He is the second child of a family of 6.

Coaching career

Khanlarkhani started his coaching career in 2008, as the assistant coach of Javaneh Sports Club Taekwondo team. In 2010, he served as the coach of Foulad Mahan Taekwondo Team for a year. From 2011 to 2013 he was the head coach of Shahrdari Bandar Abbas taekwondo team, and since 2013, he has been the head coach of Shahrdari Varamin Taekwondo Team in Iran's Premier Taekwondo League.

He is the current coach of Iran's National Para Taekwondo Team, elected in 2017.

Prior to becoming the Men's Para Taekwondo head coach, he was the head coach of Georgia National Taekwondo Team in 2015.

In 2020 Summer Paralympics, Iran's Para Taekwondo Team, led by Khanlarkhani, achieved a gold medal by Asghar Azizi and a silver medal by Mahdi Pour Rahnama.
