Personal Finance and Money Management

Personal Finance and Money Management is an American half-hour educational television series hosted by finance lecturer, money advisor, and author Robert S. Rosefsky, known on the air as Bob Rosefsky. Produced and aired in 1982 by The Corporation for Community College Television, and distributed by PBS, in cooperation with Centre Films, Inc., and Vidtronics Company, Inc. On each episode, Rosefsky learns the basics by discussing financial topics, a total of 26 half-hour episodes were produced for each lesson; It aired on many PBS stations as part of its instructional programming block. The theme music used for his show is "Wheels of Progress" by Brian Adams Morris; used as its opening theme, and "Concrete Jungle - Main version" by Douglas A. Wood; used as its closing theme. The set was designed by Joseph Andaloro, consisting of a dark stage with a monitor that has "PERSONAL FINANCE" written on it, along with a chair next to the monitor where Rosefsky sits, and the stuff representing financial.

Format[edit]

Each 30-minute episode usually begins with Rosefsky sitting on his chair introducing the lesson. He tells a story before going on to financial topics. After the story, Rosefsky then goes on to financial topics by learning the basics of financial techniques; such as T-bills, ira-keogh, mutual funds, stocks, and bonds. Using a teaching cane, Rosefsky learns financial subjects relating to the lesson, showing all the fundamentals of financing basics, such as video footage, and an interview with financial experts. After this, Rosefsky sits back down on the chair to discuss more financial topics. At the end of each episode, Rosefsky would then say his goodbyes and goes on to do more financial stuff relating to the lesson. He then leaves the set as the light dims; revealing to be a shadow, leaving the studio empty. The credits then roll over a shot of the empty set, and we see the following credits:
