Pharmozyme Inc. is a biotech company founded in 2013 by Stanford Post Doc Nader Nourizad. Pharmozyme has produced a DNA Taq Polymerase without background DNA contamination.[1] Often produced in an *E. coli* host, PCR enzymes are almost always contaminated with bacterial background DNA. Tests have revealed that even the purest marketed “Low-DNA” enzymes carry significant background contamination, however Pharmozyme's PCR enzyme is free of animal or bacterial DNA contamination.[2]
