Philippe Marseille (born April 12, 1963) is a Musician, singer-songwriter , musical direction in the genre blues rock. The founder of the musical group "Mezcaleros Band" The main influence was made by such performers as ZZ Top, Deep Purple, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, that pushed from early childhood to start playing their music .
Life and career[edit]
At an early age, Phil and his family moved to the US city of El Paso (Texas) The future musician was influenced by such performers as ZZ Top, Eric Sardinas, Rose Tattoo, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mark Knopfler – Dire Straits, Deep Purple, Rory Gallagher and others. Once Phil saw Rory Gallagher's performance on TV, at the boy had a desire not to watch and listen, but to play himself, so at the age of 15 the first guitar copy of the Fender Stratocaster and a small 10-watt amplifier were bought. As Phil said in an interview – "Soon enough, I was attracted by the sounds "fuzzy" of the time ... on all the radios, one heard only "La Grange" of ZZ Top ..."
Solo career[edit]
In 2011, the group "Mezcaleros Band" was founded with Yvan Ackermann (drums) and Michel "Mitch" Sanchez (bass). In the same year, the first and successful album "Road To Texas" was released, which was popular in countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Israel, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Spain .. .Tours were held in Uk, Germany and in Paris Although many professional listeners found similarity with the ZZ Top group in the musical direction, yet the "Mezcaleros Band" group has its own feature in the style of Blues rock From a vocal point of view, Mezcal is reminiscent of J.J. Cale and Hank Shizzo. In the Southern Rock genre, there is sometimes a slight resemblance to Molly Hatchet.
The second album was released in 2018 under the name "Tombstone" In June 2019, the first song of the future album "Juke Joint Blues" was pre-released. The song is dedicated to blues legend Robert Johnson. Phil Mezcal currently resides in city Laives – Bourgogne, France.
