Philip Moscoso
Philip Moscoso (August 14th, 1972, St. Gallen, Switzerland) is a management scholar and currently holds the Eurest Chair of Service Excellent at IESE Business School.[1][2][3], is Full Professor in the department of Operations & Technology Management[4], and Visiting Professor at the Chinese business schools Ceibs[5]. He is best known for his McGraw-Hill-published text book Operations Management for Executives, widely used in business schools and universities[6]. He complements his scholarly work with advisory services to companies[7].
Career and research[edit]
Philip Moscoso has completed a Management Program at Harvard Business School, a General Management Program (PDG) at IESE, and received his M.Sc. and Doctorate in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich[8]. Before joining IESE he has worked for the international consultancies Bain & Co. and KPMG[9][10].
His research analyses how operations excellence and innovation can generate competitive advantage for companies. He has published more than 40 articles in international journals, conference proceedings and business newspapers[11]. He has also authored more tan 30 teaching cases and technical notes, winning two times the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) best case award[12][13], and the book Operations Management for Executives[14], which is used in MBA and executive education programs of many universities and business schools. His work is frequently quoted in international media, with interviews in TV[15][16], radio[17], or business newspapers[18][19].
