Teresa Sádaba Garraza (Pamplona, January 15, 1975) is a Spanish university professor. She is professor of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Navarra, Dean of ISEM Fashion Business School (since 2011), and an expert in framing and its application to strategic communication. She concludes research in politics and fashion.[1]
Biography[edit]
Born in Pamplona in 1975, during her studies in Journalism at the University of Navarra she worked at the Diario de Navarra. After graduating in Journalism on the University of Navarra and in Political Science on the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Spain, she became a research scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science (1998), and at the University of Texas at Austin (1999). In 2001 she defended her doctoral thesis for she received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Faculty of Communication of the University of Navarra.[2]
Since 2001, she has thought Political Communication and Legal-Political Institutions at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Navarra. In 2007, she published the book "Cómo entender la política de Estados Unidos. Guía para una buena comunicación política”. Also since that year and until 2012, she was invited by the University Paris,[3] to teach an annual module of political communication.[4]
She has been a member of the research group for the European Parliament on "Globalisation of the media industry and possible threats to cultural diversity".[5]
In 2006, she was awarded a Fulbright Research Fellowship to carry out a research project at George Washington University on lobbyists in the United States and Europe.[6] The following year, she combined her teaching career with the management of institutional relations for the board of directors of Caja Navarra (2007-2011),[7] a period during which it was transformed into Banca Cívica and developed internationally.[8]
In 2011, she began running ISEM Fashion Business School, where she teaches Strategic Communication for fashion companies.[9]
Over the years, her academic research has been focused on the Framing Theory and its application in strategic communication in different sectors such as politics, banking and fashion companies. Since 2022, she has been working on politics and fashion topics and new developments in communication and directing the Digital Fashion research group.[10]
Professor Sádaba lectures and gives numerous conferences and seminars of an informative nature.[11][12]
