Philomath University is a one of the private universities established in 2021.[1] It is located in Abuja, Nigeria and accredited by the National Universities Commission.
Currently, it has two faculties and offers ten undergraduate programs.
History and Governance[edit]
Philomath University was established in 2021 and received its license from the National Universities Commission that same year. [2] With the establishment of the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Management and Social Science, academic activities started with just four students. In June 2022, Professor Gylych Jelilov was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University with Mr Yasar Aktekin as its Registrar. [3]

According to the official statement made by Mr. Yassar Aktekin, the Registrar of the university, it has been declared that a scholarship grant will be available to prospective students which will encompass a maximum coverage of 50 percent of the overall school fees. Citing the Vice Chancellor, it is stated that the university's overarching aspiration is to attain international recognition as an esteemed institution characterized by a global outlook, fostering the education of leaders who will actively shape a more compassionate and equitable world through the avenues of teaching, learning, transformative scholarly pursuits, and dynamic leadership. Philomath University has designated a road project situated within its campus with the aim of perpetuating the memory of the esteemed late mother of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister of State, Hajiya Zainab Sidi Ali. This honor is bestowed upon her in recognition of her noteworthy contributions to the advancement of education and the betterment of humanity. [5][6]
