"Phoenix" is a song by American singer and actress Olivia Holt. It was released as the lead single from her debut extended play, Olivia (2016),[1] on May 13, 2016[2] by Hollywood Records. The song was produced by Armin van Buuren and Arty and written by Steve Mac, Ammar Malik and Nina Nesbitt.

Background[edit]

In late 2014, Olivia Holt signed a recording deal with Disney housed recording label Hollywood Records. She did not release music immediately. She began recording for an album which took some time and is currently still in the works but Holt did release a self titled EP. Holt is currently preparing for the upcoming Rise of a Phoenix Tour which kicks off November 4, 2016 in Houston Texas. The tour is sponsored by Neutrogena and will feature special guests Ryland Ross and Isac Elliot. The tour was originally supposed to kick off in the summer of 2016 but was postponed due to work conflicts. Olivia stated in 2014 that she was "'happy to be apart of Hollywood Records and she hoped her first records would reflect her and her personal sound which is a mixture of Pop, and Soul'".

Music video[edit]

The music video was released on June 23, 2016, on Vevo and YouTube.[3]

Commercial performance[edit]

Phoenix peaked at number 3 on the Radio Disney top 30.

Live performances[edit]

In 2016, Holt went on her first tour, the Rise of a Phoenix Tour, with Ryland Lynch, Isac Elliot and Forever in Your Mind.
