Pierre Schurmann (born September 1, 1968) is a Brazilian serial entrepreneur and investor.[1][2][3][4] He is the founder and CEO of Nuvini, a B2B SaaS company.[5][6][7][8]
Early life and education
Schurmann was born on September 1, 1968, as the eldest son of the Schurmann Family, the first and only Brazilian family to circumnavigate the world on a sailboat. He left Brazil with his family at the age of 15, and after four years living aboard a sailboat, he decided to go to the United States to study business administration at Nova Southeastern University.
Career
Schurmann started his career in 1994 when he returned to Brazil and became the Director of Business Development for the Magalhães Global Adventure project. After investing three years in this project, Schurmann co-founded Zeek, which under his leadership became the #2 search engine in Brazil.
A year later, Schurmann became the director of business development at StarMedia Network where he worked for over a year and then left to establish ideia.com, an incubator that received funding from Warburg Pincus.
In 2004 Schurmann left ideia.com and co-founded Contectis, Brazil's first and largest experience marketing agency, which was acquired by Grupo Contexto in 2006, soon after which he founded Experience Club, Brazil's largest B2B networking platform.
After six years as CEO at Experience Club, Schurmann left to found Bossa Nova Investimentos in 2011.[9][10][11] Under his leadership, Bossa Nova became the most active VC in Latin America.[12][13] In 2014 he became an advisor at About Us, and a year later, an investor at Mobils, a technology company.[14][15]
In 2017 Schurmann became a board member at ACE Aceleratech. Two years later, he founded nuvini, a SaaS startup that in three years managed to achieve five acquisitions.[16][17]
