The Pine Creek Wildlife Area is a 2,000 acre preserve located in Modoc County, California near Alturas. The wildlife area features a trout stocked 25-acre reservoir and provides habitat for deer and antelope in the winter. There are also birds year-round including bald and golden eagles, Swainson's hawk, prairie falcon, grouse, sandhill crane, and seasonal songbirds.[1]
Yellow-billed cuckoos have been found and studied in the area.[2][3]
