Pollachi G. Ramanathan
G. Ramanathan (born 1993), also known as Pollachi G. Ramanathan, is an Indian politician, social activist, and businessman from Tamil Nadu. He contested the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election from the Pollachi constituency representing the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.[1][2]
Early life and education
Ramanathan was born in Pollachi, Coimbatore district. His primary occupations include farming and business, and he is the owner of Akshaya Catering and C.T.G. Marriage Hall in Pollachi.
Social work and COVID-19 relief
He has been continuously working on the ground to address the basic needs and infrastructure development of the people in and around Pollachi.
During the COVID-19 pandemic Ramanathan, along with volunteers, provided daily meals to over 300 destitute people and daily wage workers. Over a span of 15 days, he distributed meals to more than 4,000 individuals, provided milk and biscuits to children, and home-delivered essential groceries to families isolated due to COVID-19.[3][4]
2026 Election
Ramanathan entered the electoral fray in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election as a candidate of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) from the Pollachi constituency.[5] He secured 53,819 votes (29.70% of the total votes), finishing in the third position.
