The Pontian Eagles Soccer Club is an Australian association football club from Adelaide, South Australia. They compete in semi-professional leagues administrated by the state's official football governing body, Football South Australia and play home games at Yalumba Reserve in Adelaide's northern suburb of Paralowie.[1]

History

The club's foundations were laid with the establishment of a Pontic Greek cultural club and society formed by migrants in 1958 and named, 'The Pontian Brotherhood of South Australia inc.' [2][3] In 1992, a sporting arm 'The Pontian Eagles Soccer Club,' was formed to provide a facility for the Pontic Greek community's youth to participate in local football competition. [4] It has however since grown, welcoming youth of all backgrounds in South Australia, with a senior men's and several juniors sides.

Initially competing in the South Australian Amateur Soccer Leagues (SAASL) for much of its history, the club progressed to become a regular competitor in its top tier, the Sunday Premier League. However, after 28 years the club transitioned ahead of the 2020 season, becoming a part of the Football Federation Australia national league pyramid and joined South Australia's semi-professional competitions, entering State League 2.[5][6]
