Raj was born on 31st August 1964 in Delhi, where she grew up and completed her schooling. After schooling, she started learning music. Poonam completed her post-graduation in Hindi literature but kept honing her skills in music.
Career[edit]
Poonam Raj currently lives in Mumbai and has spent more than two decades in the music industry. She has done hundreds of shows and worked with many prominent record labels like T-Series, Venus, Times etc., and artists like Anuradha Paudwal, Anup Jalota, Suresh Wadkar, Sadhna Sargam, Kavita Krishnamurthy in the Indian music industry. Raj has performed internationally and has sung various regional songs in films and albums like in Hindi, Bhojpuri, Chhattisgarhi, Marathi, Gujarati, and Sindhi.
