Popular Unity (Italian: Unità Popolare, UP) is a far-left political alliance in Italy launched on 1 July 2022.

Background[edit]

During the 2nd National Congress of the Italian Communist Party in March 2022, the party advocated for more unity between the communist parties, remarking the political and organizational autonomy of the party members.^[1] On 1 July 2022 at the Chamber of the Deputies, PCI, DA, CARC and PMLI (along with other parties and movements) launched the Coordination for the Popular Unity.^[2]^[3]
