Prashant Kumar (born 16 May 1965) is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 1990 batch who is the Acting Director General of Police DGP Uttar Pradesh Police.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

Prashant Kumar, a 1990 batch IPS officer, was today appointed as the Director General of Police of the country's largest state, Uttar Pradesh. Although he has been made the acting DGP, he will have all the powers that a full-time DGP has.[9][10][11][12]
