Prashant Patel is a practising advocate at Supreme Court of India, social activist, writer and public speaker. Prashant is chairman of “Spanda Foundation”, managing partner in Tetra Legal Firm and patron of “Mission Vande Matram Trust”.[1] He came into focus when in 2015, he fought a year-long battle to reverse the Delhi's APP govt decision to appoint 21 of its MLAs as parliamentary secretaries.[2]

Prashant Patel was born on 5 July 1987 in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. His father Khemraj Umrao is a teacher and mother Sushila Umrao is a home maker. He did his graduation in Computer Application from Allahabad University while completed his L.L.B from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Uttar Pradesh and L.L.M from Uttrakhand Technical University. He is also post graduated from Footwear Design and Development Institute affiliated by Ministry of Commerce at Noida.[3]

In 2015, The AAP Government had passed an order to appoint 21 MLAs as Parliamentary secretaries to seven ministries which was challenged by Prashant Patel that there MLAs should be disqualified because they are holding office of Profit.[4] [5] [6]
