Gokul Rajendran is an Indian environmental activist fighting for Biodiversity, Indigenous people & One Health.[1][2] He has been working for awareness about climate change and documentation, preservation, and promotion of the traditional knowledge and practices of indigenous communities.
Biography[edit]
Gokul Rajendran was raised in Kerala. He is a Final Year Ayurveda Medical student. Also, an Android Developer & Environmental Activist.[2]
Education[edit]
He is currently doing his Final year Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery in P.N Panicker Souhruda Ayurveda College.
Indigenous Medicine[edit]
Created an Android app platform where he wanted to showcase medicinal plants catelogued in his place for his friends. But after his visit to COP26 in Glasgow, he learned that Medicinal plants around the world needs to be recognised & can be the way to make awareness that "Our Biodiversity Matters". [1][3] Also, bring focus on medicinal plants & indigenous knowledge can solve Global issues like Antimicrobial resistance, lifestyle diseases etc. [2]
On 23rd February 2021, Released the Govardhan App, which is digital library for Ayurveda medicinal plants of India.[1] On 21st July 2022, Released the Global Social Media version of Govardhan App, standing in front of the Lord Shiva Statue inside the CERN, which signifies the importance of indigenous knowledge & culture in today's world.

COP26 : United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties 26[edit]
- In November 2021, Took part in the COP26 held in Scotland, United Kingdom.
In 2022[edit]
- SDSN Mediterranean Youth Solutions Report 2021, published about the Youth Solution on Nature Conservation & his work on Nature was published on it.[3]
- Took part in UN Ocean Conference 2022, held in Lisbon, Portugal as part of the UNISC International. Made interventions on behalf of YOUNGO Ocean Voice. Took part in the Peace & Coexistence Under Iraqi Constitution Conference held in the United Nations office in Geneva. In Oct 2022, Invited to World Food Forum 2021 which was held in FAO, Headquarters, Rome, Italy.
COP27 : United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties 27[edit]
In November 2022, The Egyptian Government invited him to attend the UN Climate Conference of Parties COP27 held in Egypt for his outstanding work in biodiversity conservation & indigenous knowledge related insights. Also, being

- Contributions made from his side to this event was almost more remarkable when he took part in almost 10+ side events[4] including #OurPlantsOurCulture, Govardhan Ted Talk at Youth & Children Pavilion[5] & much more, in which the European Union Pavilion event on Antimicrobial resistance where he contributed about the need for creating awareness about Indigenous medicine is important for the future of medicine as well as for the planet.[2]
- For the first time at COP's, Indigenous Medicine was being represented & had an impact. [1][2]
Awards and recognition[edit]
- 2021: Won the All-Around Goodwaller of the Year 2021 from Goodwall.[6]
- 2022: Invited to Geneva to take part in the Health Innovation Summer school by the Global Funds.
- 2022: Invited to COP28 by the Ministry of Environment (Egypt) for his outstanding work in biodiversity conservation & indigenous knowledge related insights.
