Prezzee is an online gift card retailer based in Surry Hills, New South Wales. The platform allows consumers to buy, send, store and redeem gift cards from numerous retailers.[2]
History[edit]
Prezzee was co-founded by Claire Morris and Matt Hoggett.[3] In December 2015, Australian entrepreneur Shaun Bonétt acquired a 40 percent stake in the company through his property investment and management company Precision Group;[4] two Precision executives, Edward Piazza and Roger Hatem, joined the Prezzee board as part of the transaction.[5]
In October 2018, Tony Karp was appointed chief executive officer and managing director of the company.[2]
Operation[edit]
Prezzee's online platform includes a website and mobile app, which was launched in December 2015.[3] The platform allows users to order customised gift cards or send gifts to others who can then choose which retailer they would like to shop with. Cards are then stored on the cloud, and users receive reminders when their gift cards are nearing their expiry date.[2][6]
As of October 2018, Prezzee offers gift cards from about 80 retailers and travel companies, including Myer, David Jones, JB Hi-Fi, Kathmandu, Oxfam, Coles, Spotify, Jetstar Airways and Uber, among others.[4][2][7]
