On 18 September 2021, Princess Beatrice gave birth to a daughter (whose name has not yet been announced).[1]

Birth and family[edit]

The baby was born at 23:42 BST (22:42 UTC) at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, on 18 September 2021.[1][2][3] She has one paternal half-brother from Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's previous engagement to Dara Huang, named Christopher Woolf (born 2016).[4]

The baby's mother, Princess Beatrice, is the elder daughter of Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who is the third child of Queen Elizabeth II, making the baby the Queen's 12th great-grandchild. The baby is 11th in the line of succession to the British throne, after her mother.[1]

The name of the baby has not been announced yet.

Titles and styles[edit]

As a great-granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, she is not entitled to any style. Through her father, she is a nobile donna, that is, an Italian noblewoman, and as her father (who is styled as a Count),[5] she is entitled to the style Contessa, which means Countess in Italian.[6]

The said titles are nonetheless not recognised in either the Italian Republic[7] or the United Kingdom.[8] That title of nobility of the Kingdom of Italy was given to his family in 1913 by King Victor Emmanuel III to all male descendants imposing the surname and noble family of Mozzi and is incorporated to the family of Mapelli.[9]
