Prismatic is an American software company that provides an embedded integration platform (iPaaS) for B2B software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies. Headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the company operates as a 100% remote-first organization with a distributed workforce across the United States. Prismatic’s platform enables software companies to build, manage, and deploy integrations for their customers.
History
Prismatic was founded in 2019 by Michael Zuercher, Beth Harwood, and Justin Hipple.[1] Prior to founding Prismatic, Zuercher founded Zuercher Technologies, a public safety software firm that was later acquired and merged into CentralSquare Technologies; Harwood and Hipple were early employees at the same firm.[2]
In April 2021, the company announced a $3.25 million seed funding round to launch its platform out of stealth mode.[3] Following growth in the embedded iPaaS market, Prismatic secured $9 million in Series A funding in early 2023.[4]
In January 2024, the company closed a $22 million Series B funding round led by Five Elms Capital, bringing its total venture backing to over $34 million.[5] In 2025, Prismatic was named to Inc. magazine's list of "Best Workplaces" for its remote-first culture.[6]
Platform and technology
Prismatic provides infrastructure specifically for "embedded" integrations, allowing SaaS providers to offer native integrations within their own products.
The platform supports three methods for integration development:
- Code-native integrations: A developer-centric path where engineers write integrations entirely in TypeScript. This allows engineering teams to use standard tools like IDEs and CI/CD pipelines while the platform handles infrastructure such as OAuth and scaling.[5]
- Low-code designer: A visual drag-and-drop interface containing pre-built connectors for common SaaS applications. This allows non-technical users to assemble integrations without writing code.
- Embedded workflow builder: A white-labeled tool that can be embedded into a SaaS provider's UI, allowing customer end-users to create bespoke workflows from provided templates and connectors.[7]
