Project Revise are a Pop Punk/Skate Punk band from Worcestershire, UK. Their influences are bands from the late 90s/early 00s including Blink 182, Sum 41, New Found Glory, The Ataris and Millencolin. The band formed in early 2017 and has released two studio EPs so far.
History
The band's first EP 'Songs That Sound Like Songs' was released in December 2017. Speaking about the EP, Us For Once Magazine's Taylor Dietrich said "I'm not sure how they did it, but somehow, Project Revise made me feel like we never left the era of peak punk rock in the first place." [1]
Project Revise were invited to play a live radio session for BBC Introducing at the end of 2018, which was then broadcast on BBC Hereford & Worcester in January 2019. The BBC's Andrew Marston refers to the band as being "One of the most cutting edge bands in the Midlands, right now. Next stop: World domination." [2] They have had almost a dozen tracks played over multiple BBC Radio stations so far.
In May 2019, the band supported Hopeless Records bands Between You & Me, Story Untold and Tigress (band) on the Birmingham date of their UK tour. This was shortly followed by a show with The Bottom Line, Weatherstate and Forever Came Calling. [3] The year was ended with a sold out show supporting Bronnie at The Asylum Venue, Birmingham. Following the show, Black Velvet Magazine describe the band as "fast pop punk with a tougher edge" [4]
Project Revise's second EP, 'Songs from the Shed' was released on 17 April 2020. The 5-track received positive reviews, including Kerrang! Magazine stating [5] "This record is an ode to the classic pop-punk that soundtracked the golden age of the Warped Tour, and its creators are pretty effective at getting across the genre’s trademark lyrical angst and musical bounce."
The band released a new music video alongside the EP, for the track 'Hide Yourself'. Because of the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19, for this video the band reached out to followers on social media, to film themselves singing along/playing an instrument/holding up lyric cards. 30 followers were involved from the UK, USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia.
