Prophet Exchange is an online gambling company which is scheduled to be the United States of America's first betting exchange. Prophet Exchange is a peer-to-peer sports betting exchange where users can set prices for others to bet on, or place bets on the prices already available. The company's headquarters is located in Hoboken, New Jersey.
It is scheduled to launch in late 2021, offering spread, moneyline, and over/under markets for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAAB and NCAAF.
History[edit]
Founded in June 2018, by two Vanderbilt University alumni, Dean Sisun and Jake Benzaquen. Prophet Exchange first launched and operated in the United Kingdom before starting the pre-registration process in the USA. They partnered with Caesars Entertainment to launch their exchange in New Jersey and Indiana.[1]
In 2021, Prophet hired a new VP of Marketing, Thomas Phillips who has 14 years of experience in the sports betting, iGaming and gambling industries. Later, in September 2021 Prophet recruited Matt Garrigan, formerly Fanduel's Director of New Market Strategy, as its VP of Strategy. This was considered to be a major coup in the professional sports gaming world.[2] They rounded out the team by hiring Michael Halperin as their VP of Operations. Halperin was an original member of the DraftKings Sportsbook where he oversaw product operations, promotions and VIP strategy.[3]
Operations[edit]
Prophet Exchange is supplementing the launch of pre-registration by offering its first crowdfunding consumer campaign, Exchange The Love. Described as a unique proposal, it rewards early adopters of the Prophet’s unique sports betting exchange by offering a deposit match bonus that increases by $25 for every 500 new registrations.[4]
Prophet is launching on iOS, Android, and through their website.
