History
proteanTecs was founded by Shai Cohen, Evelyn Landman, Eyal Fayneh, Roni Ashuri, Yahel David, Yuval Bonen in May 2017 in Haifa, Israel.[1] The company publicly launched on April 1, 2019.[2][3] On August 27, 2020, it secured $45 million in funding, led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) and joined by Lip-Bu Tan, former CEO of Cadence and Intel board member.[4] In September 2020, proteanTecs was granted a U.S. patent for monitoring High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) signals, one of a number of patents held.[5]
In March 2021, the company joined the TSMC IP Alliance Program.[6][7] By September 23, 2021, it raised another $50 million, bringing total funding to $150 million, with investors like Porsche Automobil Holding SE, MediaTek, and Advantest.[8][9] In October, proteanTecs received the TSMC OIP Partner of the Year Award for its contributions to the semiconductor industry.[10] In November, proteanTecs began supporting advanced 3 nm semiconductor technology and,[11] in December, received an award from Frost & Sullivan for Best Electronics Health Monitoring Technology.[12][13]
In 2022, the company continued expanding, securing $45 million more in May, bringing total investments close to $200 million.[14][15] In August, proteanTecs added Autotalks as a customer, providing analytics for 5G chipsets.[16] In December, it was named "Most Promising Startup in Israel" by the Globes newspaper, mentioning Microsoft and Mercedes as rumored new customers.[17] Around the same time, proteanTecs partnered with PEZY Computing in Japan to monitor next-gen supercomputer processors.[18]
In early 2023, proteanTecs partnered with HARMAN to enhance automotive maintenance.[19][20]
In March, the company joined the Intel Foundry Services Alliance and began working with BAE Systems to improve defense supply chains.[21][22] By May, proteanTecs partnered with FuriosaAI in Korea to enhance AI chip performance.[23][24]
In July, proteanTecs partnered with Teradyne to integrate machine-learning telemetry for chip testing.[25][26]
In October, the company collaborated with ELES to improve automotive reliability testing, and Astera Labs became a customer, using proteanTecs for performance monitoring.[27] In November, proteanTecs won the "Overall Connected Vehicle Innovation of the Year" award at the AutoTech Breakthrough Awards.[28]
In January 2024, proteanTecs partnered with Alphawave Semi for custom silicon insights[29] and in February joined Arm’s Total Design alliance to monitor Arm-based chips.[30] In 2024 the company also launched new products, including power reduction applications, safety monitoring for automotive and RAS monitoring for data centers and AI computing.[31] In May, proteanTecs announced SAPEON, a global AI company from Korea, as a new customer to enhance AI accelerators with reliability monitoring.[32][33]
In September 2025, proteanTecs raised $51 million in a Series D funding round led by IAG Capital Partners, with participation from Arm, Samsung Catalyst Fund, and Siemens, bringing the company’s total funding to over $250 million.[34]
