Public Figures
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Public Figures is a two-piece post-punk band from Washington, DC. Formed in 2020, the band consists of Van Hillard (drums/percussion, vocals, keys) and Chad McCall (bass/guitar rig, vocals, keys, theremin). Central themes of Public Figures include paranoia, cryptozoology, information/data, espionage, anti-authoritarianism, and science fiction. The sound of Public Figures features elements of punk, post-punk, krautrock, prog-rock, classic rock, heavy metal, and new wave. Hillard and McCall have been performing together since 2000, when they were founding members of post-punk band People Chasing People (2000 to 2007). In 2016, Hillard was a founding member of Washington, DC rock noir band Park Snakes (2016-2020) along with Nenet and Jason Coile. McCall joined Park Snakes in 2018. Public Figures released their debut album Year of the Garuda in May of 2021 on House of Decay.
