Purnendu Tiwary is a retired commander of the Indian Navy who also served in the Indian Air Force before being assigned to the navy in 1982. He also played a central role in promoting India–Qatar cooperation. During his career in the navy, he conducted training programs for the Qatari Emiri Navy officers. As a business and policy analyst, he is currently serving as managing director for Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services.[1]
He is also the recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman.[2]
Career
Cdr Tiwary served in Indian Navy from 1982 to 2002 (retired), having various tenures, including command of Ships Kozhikode and Magar.[1]
From 2014 to the present – managing director of Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services
Purnendu Tiwary is a sought-after analyst in the fields of business and international relations. He plays an active role towards capacity building for the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces, thereby promoting India-Qatar co-operation.[3]
