QP is an unreleased 1997 party arcade video game that was in development and planned to be published by Success for both the Neo Geo MVS (arcade) and Neo Geo CD platforms.[2][3][4][5][6]

In QP, players can choose between one of eight characters and participate against AI-controlled opponents or against other players across minigames on a traditional-style board game map. Although previewed across a few video game magazines, the game was ultimately shelved for unknown reasons.[7]

Gameplay[edit]

QP is a multiplayer party game featuring eight playable characters where players participate against AI-controlled or other human opponents across minigames, while gameplay is presented in the form of a game show-themed traditional-style board map.[3][7][8][9] Besides minigames, players would also participate on other events to test their skills.[8]

History[edit]

QP was first announced across various Japanese publications such as Neo Geo Freak as a Neo Geo CD title for a January 1996 launch.[2][10] Although its production number during development remains unknown, it is generally believed to be assigned with either number 104 or 204.[11][12][13][14][15][16]

QP was also discussed by a member of the development team at Success in the March 1997 issue of Neo Geo Freak, in addition of being previewed and advertised via official artwork through other magazines such as Gamest.[9][17][18][19] Despite being touted for a May 1997 release, it was ultimately shelved for unknown reasons, however several possible factors have been given as to why the title was never published in recent years.[3][7][8][16] Though a prototype cartridge is rumored to exist, no ROM image of the title has managed to surface online.[20]
