Qorrect (بالعربية: كوركت) is a comprehensive educational assessment management system that uses optical mark recognition (OMR) and manages all phases of the testing cycle, starting from question authoring, question banking, exam creation and delivery, and analysis and feedback to item enhancement via various platforms: computers, smartphones, tablets, or printed papers.[1][2]

Qorrect was created to help make balanced exams connected to the desired learning objectives, deliver them securely online or in print, and finally analyze the results statistically quickly. The system provides the tools and features required for a faster and high-quality psychometrically valid assessment process in K-12, higher education, and training programs, using encryption. For example, the user has the option to choose multiple test forms for the same assessment and shuffle the assessment items, preventing cheating and ensuring quality of the assessment process.

The Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research of Egypt—Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar[3]—lately declared his support of unifying exams via assessment management systems. Consequently, 3226 students in medicine Egyptian faculties[4], in 21 universities successfully used Qorrect in their unified exam[5], in order for it to be spread later on in all universities of Egypt. It is used in Ain Shams University, HICMIS, the Faculty of Technology and Development, etc. [6][7]

    Functions

    1. It provides a wide spectrum of item repository and routing needs, in order to manage the required items.

    2. It grades assessments quickly and accurately.

    3. It secures and protects assessments and data: it manages both online and paper assessments, allowing multiple test forms for the same exams with different questions (items) or the same questions. Moreover, questions and answers could be shuffled for each exam form.

    5. It produces accurate and real-time reports and analyses.

    How it Works

The process of Qorrect assessment is as follows:

    1. Item Authoring

The user is able to add predefined items (questions) and course specs templates or they can write, review, and approve the authored items. Also, images, charts, tables, media, maps, formulas, or mathematical equations could be added to the items (questions).

    2. Item Banking[8]

The system allows users to store unlimited numbers of items and classify questions and it supports all kinds of questions like short answer questions, MRQs, MCQs, true or false, matching, and fill in the blank questions.

    3. Exam Creation

There are two methods in this step: manual/random selection and blue-print balanced selection. First, the user is able to randomly select questions from topics or subtopics. Second, the user is able to generate balanced exams depending on certain criteria.

    4. Exam Delivery

The user is able to deliver exams via two ways: offline (importing results from OMR software) or online (using the internet or intranet, providing immediate feedback and grading).

    5. Reporting and Analysis

Qorrect assessment system generates summary reports and psychometric analysis for tests, allowing the user to export them to spreadsheets and import them into other platforms.

    6. Item Enhancement

The assessment system enhances the chosen questions or items with psychometric analysis and other statistics. It provides data on the items and if they should be altered, changed, or removed and their level of difficulty.

    Features

    1. It is web-based system that can be installed on an intranet and it is available in English and Arabic.

    2. It is integratable with Remark OMR products and learning management systems (LMS) and works with most mobile devices and tablets and all popular web browsers anywhere.

    3. Items could be categorized in multiple ways on unlimited levels and searched on in terms of content, statistics, authors, and any metadata.

    4. Exams settings (levels, targeted examiners, type, and time) are created based on the covered curriculum and learning objectives and cognitive levels and skills.

    5. Autosave feature is available to prevent data loss.

    6. The system is anti-cheating: printing, page saving, and screen capturing are all prevented.

    7. Qorrect tracks questions' development cycle and measures and reviews its validity according to usage statistics and quality, using psychometric analysis.
