Quantum University is a private university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. It was established under the *Quantum University Act, 2016* (Uttarakhand Act No. 04 of 2017) and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[1][2]
The university has been covered by regional and national education outlets for its interdisciplinary model and entrepreneurship programmes.[3]
History
Quantum University was established by the *Quantum University Act, 2016* passed by the Government of Uttarakhand. The Act enables the university to offer higher education in disciplines including engineering, management, health sciences, law, agricultural studies, and humanities.[4]
Campus
The campus of Quantum University is located on the Roorkee–Dehradun Highway at Mandawar, Roorkee. It comprises academic buildings, laboratories, libraries, hostels, and sports facilities.[5] Institutional quality reports list an 18-acre campus with modern academic infrastructure, auditoriums, and ICT-enabled classrooms.[6]

Quantum University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes through its various schools, including:

Quantum University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.[8] The university’s professional programmes are approved by the Bar Council of India (for integrated law degrees) and the Pharmacy Council of India (for D.Pharm and B.Pharm programmes).[9]
Rankings
According to Collegedunia, Quantum University’s MBA programme was ranked 57 out of 120 colleges in India (Outlook ranking 2022) and 243 out of 370 in 2025.[10]
Entrepreneurship and innovation
Quantum University hosts a Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship which organises events in collaboration with leading institutions. In May 2025, the university held a Startup Boot Camp powered by IIM Kashipur and supported by Startup Uttarakhand and the District Incubation Centre, Haridwar.[11] It also organised “PRERAK-2025”, an E-Cell orientation programme to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.[12]
Convocations
The 4th convocation of Quantum University was held on 30 November 2024. The Governor of Uttarakhand presided over the event and conferred degrees and medals to students.[13][14]
Infrastructure and facilities
University IQAC reports describe ICT-enabled classrooms, research laboratories, hostels, auditoriums, sports facilities, and a digital library as part of the campus infrastructure.[15] Student reviews on Shiksha also describe the infrastructure as modern, with well-equipped labs and hostel facilities.[16]
