QuasarDB is a Paris-based company that develops technologies to handle data in real time.[1] The company was founded by Edouard Alligand in 2008.[2][3][4]

Overview[edit]

QuasarDB[5][6][7] is a distributed transactional key-value storage database with distributed secondary indexes and native time series support, written in C++.[8][4][9] The database solves performance and scalability problems,

In November 2015, ActiveViam (formerly Quartet FS) decided to make quasardb its OEM and resell it under the name of Active Storage.[10][11] Quasardb is available in both a free community edition and a commercial edition.

The company opened a new office in New York in March 2018.[12][13]

Supported languages[edit]

There are several bindings for quasardb, including:[8] C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), PHP, Python and Visual Basic. Additionally, it has a RESTful API.[9]

QuasarDB has a built-in query language which is a dialect of SQL optimized for time series.

Collaborations[edit]

In 2018, Spectracom announced that its PRISMA solution would embed quasarDB.[14]

Funding[edit]

The company raised $2.5 million in the seed funding round led by Partech Ventures. The funding round was also supported by Orolia and private investors.[15][16][1][2][17]

As of 2018, the company has raised $3.5 million.[15][16][1]
