Queen’s Collegiate is an independent school located in Toronto, Canada. It was founded in 2003 by Jooyon Cho, Ph. D. It is a university preparatory school for boys and girls from grade 5 to 12 as well as English language school for adult learners with a focus on academic achievement and leadership development. Queen’s Collegiate is authorized by the Ontario Ministry of Education to operate elementary and secondary school, accredited by the Languages Canada, Ontario Ministry of Training, and Immigration Canada to offer English learning programs, and affiliated with many US and Canadian testing bodies to provide test invigilation services.
Founder[edit]
Jooyon Cho, Ph. D. in Sociolinguistics, a founder of Queen’s Collegiate, has a lifelong philosophy of education, “Education liberates the world”, which he learned from his childhood adversities. While Dr. Cho was working at the University of Toronto as a visiting scholar, he decided to establish a Canadian local school focusing on the quality of education and solid preparation for college and university admission.

- Queen’s Collegiate was first established in 2003 as C2K Education & Beyond with after-school tutoring and English language learning centre by its owner, President Jooyon Cho.
- In 2004, Queen’s Collegiate was registered as Queen’s College, a private secondary school, granting secondary school diplomas and credits at a regular, night, and summer school.
- In 2009, Queen’s Collegiate was incorporated and renamed on the request of the Ontario Ministry of Training not to confuse the public about the level of education provided.
- In 2010, Queen’s Collegiate became a member of the Ontario Federation of Independent Schools (OFIS).
- In 2012, Queen’s Collegiate expanded Queen’s Testing Centre to offer test invigilation services for admission tests (SAT, ACT, LAST, AP, GRE, MCAT, SSAT) and English proficiency tests (TOEFL, TOEIC, CAEL, MELAB, and CELPIP). SSAT and MELAB tests were discontinued in 2015, and MCAT in 2017.
- Queen’s Language School, a division of Queen’s Collegiate, got accredited by Languages Canada in 2015 to offer a variety of English language learning programs.
- In 2015, Queen’s Test Preparation Centre opened its doors to a pilot Accredited CELPIP Test Preparation Program. Queen’s Collegiate was the first centre in Ontario approved by Paragon Testing Enterprise to offer the program. In a year Paragon launched a Canada wide CELPIP Test Preparation at other institutions and discontinued its accreditation.
- In 2017 Queen’s Language School became a Designated Learning Institution for international students.
- In 2019, an integrated curriculum was launched at Queen’s Collegiate Elementary School. Also, a Student Union was established to involve students in decision-making and active participation at Queen’s Collegiate.
Queen's Secondary School[edit]
Queen’s Secondary School is a semestered secondary school inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education every second year. It offers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma Program (OSSD) and individual credit courses. It is a member of the Ontario Federation of Independent schools (OFIS). Queen’s Collegiate provides to its students free personal, educational, and career counseling, assisting students in setting goals, choosing courses, applying to colleges and universities, exploring employment opportunities, and developing job search skills.
Queen's Elementary School[edit]
Queen’s Elementary School provides a holistic educational environment through an enhanced co-curricular program and integrated learning. An integrated curriculum combines math and dance, science and visual arts, humanities and music, English language and drama, French and sports. Sport classes are held at YMCA gym and Centennial Park. Field trips are a mandatory component of the curriculum.
Queen's Summer Camp[edit]
Queen’s Summer Camp is a three- or six- week program which includes classes, activities and field trips. It is designed for international and domestic students of 10-17 years old. Through games and communication, domestic students learn about different cultures, while international students develop their English skills.
Queen's Language School[edit]
Queen’s Language School follows the Language Canada Quality Assurance Standards Scheme and is inspected by Orion for its compliance every second year. It is a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) listed on the Canada Immigration website.Queen’s Language School has a range of English classes for different levels and purposes, such as General English, Academic English, English for Immigration, English for Business, English for Employment, and English Test Preparation.
Queen's Testing Centre[edit]
Queen’s Testing Centre operates over 140 computers and provides facilities and test invigilation services for professional license tests, English proficiency tests, college and university admission tests, and test invigilation for online university degree programs in Canadian and US universities.
