Quincy Carroll is an American novelist.[1][2] As of 2022, he is the author of two works of fiction.
Early life and education[edit]
Carroll grew up in Natick, Massachusetts. He attended Yale University, where he earned a BA, and later studied in the Writing, Literature & Publishing MFA program at Emerson College.[3]
Career[edit]
Carroll's first novel, Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside, was published in 2015 by Inkshares, a crowdfunded publisher.[4][5][6] The novel was selected as a Kirkus Reviews Indie Book of the Month in January 2016 and won the silver medal in Contemporary Fiction at the 2016 Independent Publisher Book Awards.[7][8] In 2017, a second edition was released by Camphor Press. His most recent work, Unwelcome, was published in February 2022, also by Camphor.[9]
Excerpts from Carroll's novels have appeared in various publications, including Cha: An Asian Literary Journal and The Anthill.[10][11] He was the winner of Medium's 2012 Fiction Writing Contest, for the first chapter from Up to the Mountains and Down to the Countryside.[12] From August 2019 to January 2020, he was an artist-in-residence at the Peace Hotel in Shanghai, China.[13]
