Quinton van Rooyen (born 1965 in Durban, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa).[1] is a Namibian businessman. Van Rooyen bought Trustco Group Holdings in 1992,[2] a holding company with branches in insurance, finance, asset management, media, and education. Since then it has grown to one of the largest financial service firms in Southern Africa. As of 2022 van Rooyen still owns a substantial portion of it.[3]

Trustco is dual-listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. It runs the LegalShield insurance, the Institute of Opel Learning (IOL) educational institution, and owns various property development schemes in and around Windhoek. Trustco also owns the microfinancing institution Trustco Bank. Business Insider has labelled Trustco's accounting practices as "controversial" and "curious".[4]

Van Rooyen is among the richest Namibians. After selling close to 50% of TrustCo in 2013, his wealth was estimated to have surpassed 1 billion N$ in 2014[5] (c. 100 million US$)[6]

Van Rooyen holds an LL.B. and a doctorate (honoris causa) from the International University of Management (IUM).[1]
