Rachel Maddow Presents: Ultra is an 8-part podcast by MSNBC host Rachel Maddow about a little-publicized seditious conspiracy plot to overthrow the U.S. Government that took place in 1940. The historical precedent is relevant because it parallels the attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election, which have erroneously been called "unprecedented."[1]
The first two episodes were published October 10, 2022,[2] with the remaining episodes to be delivered each Monday following.

The first episode details the Lovettsville air disaster on August 31, 1940 that killed Senator Ernest Lundeen, two FBI employees and a government prosecutor. Lundeen's curious behavior before boarding the flight, and the unusual passenger list, both raise suspicions that the crash might not have been caused by lightning as officially concluded.[3]

The America First Committee opposed the entry of the United States into World War II. The support of Nazi Germany for the Committee, and the number of U.S. Congressmen and Senators who worked, knowingly or inadvertently for Hitler, is not well-known. Members of the Committee plotted to overthrow the U.S. government by inciting violence and antisemitism.
