Rafih Filli.[1](originally known as Abdul Rafiyah Filli ) is a Kerala-based Indian entrepreneur. He was born in 1981. He is the founder and CEO of Filli Cafe[2], a multinational restaurant dealing in the World's first Zafran Chai (Saffron Tea) and Indian savories. The headquarters[3] of Filli cafe is located in Dubai, UAE.
Early Life[edit]
Abdul Rafiyah Filli was born in 1981 on at Kasaragod, the northern state of Kerala, India. The nickname "Filli" was given to Abdul Rafiyah Filli by his school friends. After his initial efforts in India, he later moved to Dubai where he first opened a small cafe in 2006. Rafih Filli has also been referred to as "The Chai Master"[4] for his significant contribution to revolutionizing the tea culture in UAE.
Career[edit]
Rafih Filli[5] started his small business by taking over his father’s restaurant named Al Zumalaa Cafeteria and adding his signature Zafran[6] tea in the menu. Over time the Filli cafe became famous for its unique "Zafran tea" and the brand's popularity grew beyond borders.
Filli cafes have their headquarters in Central Dubai, UAE. By this far the company has been able to establish itself in several major Gulf as well as English countries including: United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Canada, India, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, and United States of America. By now the company has more than 75 outlets[7] and 15 franchise stores around the globe[8]
