Rahul Vohra
Rahul Vohra (12th October, 1964) is an actor, director and producer and his work spills over from movies to television, theatre, music and events as well. He has acted in multiple languages, English, Hindi, French, and Punjabi, to name a few. Throughout his career, Rahul as been spotted wearing traditional, hand-made or Khadi, Indian attire (kurta and pyjama). [1]
Early Life and Education:[edit]
He did his B.A in Economics, from Delhi University[2] and an Advance certification in French as well. During this time, he was a part of the Dramatics Society of Deshbandhu College and also one of the founding members of a theater group called ‘Chingari’.[3]
He finished his B.A. in 1986, and he started working with the National Cultural Festival. After it shut down, he helped found a voluntary body called ‘Sarthi’.[3]
In 1987 he did his M.A in French from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, with a specialization in Cinema and Translation.
After his M.A he went to France to work in a Indo-French production called 'Les Riches Heures de Villeneuve’. He also has a doctorate in International Cultural Management from France.[1]

Rahul has acted in many Bollywood movies like Swades and Pyar Impossible.[4] He has also done several international films, Un plus Une being his most recent.[5] One of the most prominent theater work is a musical called, 'Bharati'.[6]
He started his own company ‘Apostrophe99’ in the year 1999 to find a contemporary expressions of traditional arts.[1]

2005: Honorary Citizenship of the city of Montpellier and the Medal of St. Jean de Védas
2014: Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of the Arts and Letters) for significant contribution to Cinema and Theatre[7]
