Raider Klan (short for Blackland Raider Klan) is an American hip hop collective formed in 2008 or 2009, in Carol City, Miami, Florida and headed by SpaceGhostPurrp.[1]
History
Raider Klan was formed in 2008 or 2009 by SpaceGhostPurrp and his friends Jitt[2] and Kadafi in Carol City,[3] initially as a motorcycle gang.[2] Black Kray joined the group in 2011 as the head of its skate team. Jitt passed away around this time.[2] As SpaceGhostPurrp became a rapper and producer, Raider Klan was transformed into a hip hop collective. Miami rapper Denzel Curry, and Memphis rappers Xavier Wulf and Chris Travis joined BRK, as did Houston rapper Amber London and West Coast rapper Key Nyata.[2] London and Key had met Purrp through the internet, making BRK one of the first hip hop groups to be partially formed online. After the group began to attract attention, Carol City rappers Yung Simmie, Nell and Rell joined in 2012.[2] Other artists to join included Eddy Baker and Dough Dough.[4] Later that year, the Klan began to disperse as Curry and Wulf departed.[5] In 2013, the remaining members released their debut collaborative album, Tales From the Underground. The group broke up in 2015, with Purrp going on to form a new group, Black Money Boy$ (BMB). In 2017, it was announced the original BRK lineup would reunite for a series of concerts alongside a number of long-time affiliates.[4][6]
