Rajesh M. Nair currently serves as Professor of Practice of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) at Asia School of Business._Asia_School_of_Business-1|[1], in collaboration with MIT-Sloan, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and a Visiting Scholar at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Rajesh is a product designer, system thinker, inventor, serial entrepreneur, and mentor/coach for young entrepreneurs.His research at MIT and later is on developing methods to catalyze young innovators and entrepreneurs in rural communities from the ground up and to build local entrepreneurship ecosystems[2][3][4]..

Education[edit]

Rajesh holds bachelor's degrees in Electronics & Communications Engineering from IISc., and in Physics from Kerala University. He received master's degrees in Engineering and Management, System Design and Management[5] from MIT, Cambridge, MA, in Manufacturing Engineering (UMass, Amherst), and in Electronic Product Design (IISc, Bangalore).

Career[edit]

Rajesh is one of the founding faculty of Asia School of Business, started by MIT-Sloan and Bank Negara in Kuala Lumpur in 2015. He also heads the ASB-Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center. His past experience and startups specialized in varying fields from consumer products to special sensors for auto and ICT industries, to mission-critical electromechanical assemblies for medical, military and data centers. The last company he co-founded is Degree Controls Inc, with its HQ and factory in Milford, NH United States. He founded TechTop, a nonprofit organization working on promoting innovation among Indian youth since 2006. His current initiative with EnCube Labs, a social enterprise that focuses on creating entrepreneurs by building nurturing I&E ecosystems in rural and underprivileged communities in India, has led to the creation of EnCube FabLab in Gandhinagar for training school children and young adults to be transformative mentors in their communities to accelerate the movement.
Rajesh has over 30 years of experience in design and manufacturing of electronic products and 25 years of startup experience through co-founding three companies; ThinkAMagic (Closed), Cambridge AccuSense (Sold), and Degree Controls (Sold). He holds 13 US patents[6][7][8][9][10][11].
He received Entrepreneur of the Year at New Hampshire High Tech Council (2001)[12]
He has spoken at UN General Assembly in Sept 2018 on his current approach of scalable maker labs that can be started small in poor communities, TEDx BeaconStreet[13], on his experience in ‘Starting Up Entrepreneurs’ and TEDx UTP[14] events on his work on catalyzing entrepreneurs in underserved communities.
He has conducted more than sixty workshops across the globe where he applied this model to develop entrepreneurial attitudes in young minds through his Zero-Maker-Innovator-Entrepreneur model to build mindset, skillset, and self-efficacy.
