Rajit Dev
Rajitdev is a Indian Dancer, Choreographer and Director working in Bollywood Industry. He is known for his versatility in different dance cultures like Bollywood, Hip-Hop, Indian Classical, Jazz, Contemporary, Salsa etc and also for his unique style of choreography.
Early life[edit]
Rajitdev was born on 5 November 1985 to CT Eashwardas and Sridevi in Mumbai, India. He completed his school from Mahila Samiti English School,Thakurli. He started training in Bharatnatyam at age of 6 along with his elder sister. As passionate as he was related to dance, his father gifted him a Cassette with Micheal Jackson songs, which gave him taste of International Music. And later that year he saw Prabhudeva in Muqabla Muqabla and Shahrukh Khan in Chaiya Chaiya.
Career[edit]
Rajitdev started working as a Background Dancer with Pappu-Maalu which gave him entrance to Bollywood Industry. He performed in several stage shows. Later he went on to work with Ganesh Hegde in Stage Shows and Music Videos. His major breakthrough was “Main Aisa Kyun Hoon” from Movie Lakshya which went on to win National Award, choreographed by one of his idols Prabhudeva. Later he started working with Vaibhavi Merchant as an Assistant Choreographer and have worked in Several Films like Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) , Don 2 (2011), Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2012), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) , Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013) , Dhoom 3 (2013) , Fan (2016) , Befikre (2016), Sultan (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai(2017) and Loveratri (2018) to name a few.
He also assisted Vaibhavi Merchant and Shruti Merchant in Musical like The Merchants of Bollywood and Taj Express. Rajitdev plays lead role in internationally recognised and praised musical Taj Express. He participated in TV Shows like Just Dance. He also choreographed Puja Banerjee, Kavita Kaushik and Karishma Tanna in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa for Season 7 (2016) ,Season 8(2017) and Season 9(2018).
Rajitdev started working independently in 2017 with films like Meri Pyari Bindu, Lipstick Under my Burkha, BlackMail and Khali Peeli and Musical ‘Chhota Bheem in Jadooi Adventure’. He has also choreographed chartbusters like Chhod Denge(2021) for Nora Fatehi and International Hit Pepeta(2019) for Nora Fatehi and Ray Vanny, Radha (2021) for Dhvani Bhanushali and Baarish Ki Jaye (2021) for Nawaazuddin Siddiqui. He also directed Pachtaoge Female Version (2020) for Nora Fatehi.[citation needed]
