Ralph Kilmann (October 5, 1946) is an American management consultant, educator, and author.[1][2] He co-authored the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument.
Education and career[edit]
Ralph Kilmann earned both his B.S. in graphic arts management and M.S. in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Ph.D. in behavioral sciences in management and social systems design from the University of California, Los Angeles.[3][4]
He co-authored the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, a framework for understanding conflict based on five 'modes'[5] of conflict responses: competing, accommodating, avoiding, collaborating, and compromising.[6][7]
Ralph H. Kilmann, Ph.D., is CEO and Senior Consultant at Kilmann Diagnostics, offering online courses and assessment tools on conflict management, change management, expanding consciousness, and quantum transformation.[8][4]
From 1991 to 2001, Kilmann was the George H. Love Professor of Organization and Management at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, following his previous twenty years as a full-time faculty member there.[9][3]
