Randy Robert Stair also known online as Andrew Blaze (September 17, 1992 – June 8, 2017) was an American mass murderer, and internet personality.
On June 8, 2017, he would kill 3 people including himself at his workplace Weis Markets.
Early life
Randy Stair was born in Pennsylvania on September 17, 1992 to Robert and Lori Anne Stair. He was the older sibling of Jeremy Stair.
When Stair was young, he was described as incredibly shy and introverted, he started filming videos with one his friends. During his teenage years, he became infatuated with the character Ember McLain from the American animated series Danny Phantom and started believing that he was originally a female ghost, and that he was from a different universe.
YouTube content
Stair started a YouTube channel called "PioneersProductions" when he was 15 years old, experimenting with filmmaking and comedic skits. Over time, he struggled with existential thoughts, depression, and mental illness. He starting working part-time at a Weis supermarket, and attended community college after leaving high school. In 2016, Stair created his own animated series on YouTube called "Ember's Ghost Squad" also known as "EGS." He became increasingly isolated as he taught himself animation.
Stair started idolizing the Columbine shooters, and posted disturbing content on the "EGS" YouTube channel with themes involving killing people, under the guise of violent cartoons. an example would be his last youtube video "the Westborough Highschool massacre" which was an homage to the Columbine shooting. Stair held racist and anti-LGBTQ views despite identifying as a female soul trapped within a male body. In the lead up to the shooting he planned to commit at his place of work, he recorded several hours worth of audio and vlogs explaining his motives. These included gender dysphoria, hatred of human beings, fear of aging, and a fixation on fantasy.
Shooting
On June 8, 2017, Stair arrived for his overnight shift at the Weis Markets in Dallas, Pennsylvania, he would proceed to block the entrances and exits of the supermarket over the course of his shift before proceeding to shoot and kill three of his co-workers.
His first victim was Victoria Brong, who was shot while stacking the aisles alongside his co-worker and friend Kristen Newell. After Victoria was shot, Kristen, who had heard the shooting through her headphones but didn't immediately identify the sounds as gunfire, turned to face Victoria to ask her what the noise was only to find herself face to face with the perpetrator.
Stair fired a few more rounds into Victoria before locking eyes with Kristen, who was left completely frozen after witnessing what just happened.
Stair continued down the supermarket, proceeding to kill Brian Hayes and Terry Lee Sterling.
Kristen would escape through the front entrance of the supermarket after making a call to 911 and hiding in the checkout area.
As first responders arrived and prepared to make their entrance into the building Stair would bring an end to his own life in the Deli section of the supermarket, after firing a total of 59 shots.
Autopsy
Autopsy records revealed that Stair had took large amounts of the antihistamine diphenhydramine before the shooting.[1] Diphenhydramine is a deliriant in high doses and is known to cause hallucinations and delusions.
It was also revealed that Stair was wearing women's undergarments under his regular clothing.
