Brian Bedford (born June 10, 2005), known professionally as Raq Baby, is an American rapper and songwriter from Chicago, Illinois, based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is signed to Santa Anna and is known for blending drill-inspired storytelling with Atlanta’s southern bounce. He gained early attention with the single "Soldier Love" and rose through the ranks with projects like Spill Season and More Spill.[1]
Career
Raq Baby began gaining traction in 2022, shortly after relocating from Chicago to Atlanta. His breakout single, "Soldier Love", released in 2023, appeared on his early project Maniac Baby. The following year, he released several projects including Bloody Holiday, El Peligro, and Abstruse, which showcased a versatile blend of pain-driven lyricism and trap production.
In late 2024, he released Spill Season, which peaked at #15 on Apple Music’s All Genre Albums Chart and #8 on the Rap/Hip-Hop chart, accumulating over 40 million streams.[2]
In March 2025, he followed up with the EP More Spill and performed his first headlining show. He also joined rapper SahBabii on the Resurrection Tour, performing in Boston, Brooklyn, and Atlanta.[1]
In April 2025, HotNewHipHop described Raq Baby as “an artist on the brink of breakout,” citing his streaming momentum and consistent output.[3]
