The Raya people (Amharic: ራያ) are a subgroup of the Habesha people inhabiting an area to the north of the historic Wollo Province in Ethiopia (as far as Lake Ashenge), namely modern day Kobo (Raya Kobo) and Raya Azebo. The Raya are an agriculturalist population speaking both Amharic and Tigrinya.
