Renato José Cabrera Figueroa (born 22 June 1998), better known by his stage name Renato Cabrera, is a Guatemalan DJ, record producer, musician, and songwriter.
He garnered international attention with his remix of the track "Where Are Ü Now" by Jack Ü with Justin Bieber, which has received over 1 million plays on SoundCloud and Jamendo [3] [4] and his single Take Me Anywhere which has over thousands views on YouTube with an additional thousands plays on the music streaming service Spotify, as of December 2018. Renato Cabrera has accumulated over 1 million views on his music on SoundCloud, YouTube, Spotify, Jamendo, among others.[citation needed]
Renato Cabrera has since released several singles, such as Summer Love, She, Feel so Good, and Believe In Me, which have received good reception with international listeners. Cabrera's debut album High Spirits was released on 9 March 2018.[5]
Early life
Renato Cabrera was born on 22 June 1998 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, the son of Elmer Renato Cabrera, a Naval officer, and Rocío Figueroa, a professional make-up artist in the entertainment world. He is the only son of the couple.
Renato Cabrera started to learn piano at the age of eight and saxophone at the age of twelve. He stopped when he was 15 or 16 and started producing music with FL Studio and a MIDI keyboard while watching several tutorials on YouTube.[6] When he decided to pursue music as a hobby he was in his last year of school at Colegio Salesiano Don Bosco in Guatemala City, Guatemala.[7] He has cited Norway DJ Kygo as his main inspiration.[8]

Career
2016-2017: Breakthrough
On 10 December 2016, Renato Cabrera released his first single called "Take Me Anywhere" on Swedish record label, a dependency of UMG and Spinnup.[9] After that, on 22 May 2017, he released the single Feel so Good, and then, he released the single She which gained international recognition and debuted on several charts worldwide. After receiving over thousands views on YouTube and an additional thousands plays on the music streaming service Spotify, Renato Cabrera was contacted by JozhBass, a DJ and producer from Guatemala to create a new song for his release EP, Non The Last. He has also supported underground DJs in Guatemala City, Guatemala, in 2017, with an EP of remixes of his song Take Me Anywhere. On 24 July 2017, Renato Cabrera, with the Guatemalan DJ Ale Q and the Nobel Prize Rigoberta Menchú inaugurated the Movimiento Juventud 2017, the most important youth movement in Latin America.[10] Renato Cabrera released his first official music video of his song She, on 16 November 2017 [11] Later, Renato Cabrera released his second EP called Young, Wild And Free, including old songs that he published in his teenage years via Jamendo and SoundCloud.
2018: Goovibz and High Spirits
In February 2018, Cabrera's song Goovibz was featured in all Guatemalan radios, reaching international charts and thousands plays on Spotify.[12]

In the beginning of May 2017, Renato Cabrera announced that his debut studio album was going to be released on 9 March 2018, under the title High Spirits . He also announced that he would be releasing three promotional singles, leading up to the release of the album. The first of these singles, which was released on 22 May 2017, was entitled "Feel So Good". The second single came out on 10 August 2017, and was called "Summer Love". The third and last single was released on 5 September 2017 and was entitled "She" featuring an acoustic version. Renato Cabrera went to all the radio stations of his country and participated in interviews on international radios, like Kiss FM and iHeartRadio, having live sessions of his most famous songs in acoustic version and was invited to do EDM sessions with regularity.
Believe In Me and next album
On 8 May 2018, Renato Cabrera posted an Instagram story about his new project called Believe In Me.[13], he released the song on 8 June 2018, a month later. The song is the lead single from Cabrera's third EP, Believe in Me: the Remixes.

On 6 August 2018, Renato Cabrera remixed the Bonnie McKee song "Mad Mad World".[15] On July 2018, Renato Cabrera announced via Facebook and Instagram that his second studio album is called Midnight Daydreams, which will be released in December 2018.
Personal life
Renato Cabrera is studying engineering in computer science and systems in Guatemala City, Guatemala at Rafael Landívar University. He said in an interview for a local radio that he wasn't in a relationship.[1]
Philanthropy

In October 2017, Renato Cabrera was invited to be part of McDonald's McDia Feliz, giving his image and work for poor children of Casas Ronald McDonald in Guatemala. Also, Cabrera was a volunteer in educational systems in Guatemala called IGER, giving his time and knowledge to bring education to its users. Renato Cabrera worked with the Salesians of Don Bosco for children and young people in Guatemala[16][1]
