Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment. Set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Innocence (2019), it follows Sophia, a young treasure hunter on the run, as she finds herself on Minotaur's Island, where she endeavors to unravel the island's myth and learn more about her past. The player fights enemies, solves puzzles, and can shift between the Middle Ages and ancient Minoa while exploring the island.[1] Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026.
Development and release
David Dedeine, Asobo Studio's chief creative officer, stated that with Resonance they aimed to expand the world of A Plague Tale into a "much more action-oriented experience", as well as explore new themes and setting. The developers chose Sophie, a supportive character in A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022), as the protagonist because she was "very close to our heart".[2]
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025.[3] It is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026.[4]
