Retroboombeats (/'reh·trow boom beet'/, English pronunciation) born 09 June 1994 is a Nigerian record producer, Recording Artist and Singer. Born and raised in Abuja, Nigeria, he released his first single, Special, in 2018. Retroboombeats has produced several musicians across Africa. He produced Grind by Dj Kendrick, Pochovibes and many more.[1] Press Rewind by Chop Boii. [2]

Early life

Retroboombeats real name is Okoro Chibueze Clinton and he was born in Abuja, Nigeria. Retroboombeats's father, Remigius C. Okoro (Deceased), was an Architectural Engineer and born into a Nigerian Catholic family. His mother, Maria Celine Okoro, of Nigerian descent, is a retired Nurse with the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital. Retroboombeats is the fourth child of five children.

Career

2012: Early work

Retroboombeats began to produce beats independently in Abuja[1]. He produced remakes of popular songs and discovered Afrobeat music when he heard an Afrobeat record on CoolFm[2] Abuja radio in 2007. The next year, he started producing original songs for several up-and-coming artists around the community.

2017

Abena[3] (a Ghanaian[4] name) was produced and recorded by Retroboombeats (formerly Aceondebeat). He released the track, which has performed well online in several countries across Europe and Africa.

2018

Retroboombeats released his second studio single, 'Special[5]', produced by himself. Special is currently gaining airplay around the world and is available on all digital streaming platforms.
