The Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas – Journal of High Andean Research is a quarterly, refereed scientific journal focussing on agricultural, biological, and environmental research on the Andean region. According to the Mountain Research Initiative, it is one of 19 academic journals focussing on mountain research.[1]
Overview[edit]
Originally founded in 1999, since 2013 it is published regularly by the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano de Puno, Peru. Articles are licensed under a Creative Commons license. The current director and editor is Fortunato Escobar Mamani. The objective of the Revista de Investigaciones Altoandinas - Journal of High Andean Research is to disseminate results and advances in scientific research oriented towards the interaction between humans and the environment in the mountain regions of the Andean states - from the foothills to the summits. The journal publishes preferably multi, inter and transdisciplinary works, dedicated to the promotion of regional development in the Andean area within the framework of the triple helix model: academic sector, productive and/or service sector (civil society) and public sector (government bodies).[2]

The journal is abstracted and indexed in Web of Science (Emerging Sources Citation Index),[3] in SciELO Citation Index, in Latindex, in Dialnet, in REDIB, in Food Science and Technology Abstracts and in the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals).[4]
