Richard Austen Cargill (born January 25, 1982) is an American heir. He is the son of Austen S. Cargill II, and the great-great-grandson of William W. Cargill,.[1]

Biography[edit]

He is a member of the Cargill family and was appointed to the Cargill board of directors in 2016, though he did not previously work for the company.[2] He founded investment company Turas Mara LLC in 2018.[3] He also founded of the Midwest Climbing Academy in Minneapolis[4] in 2012.[5] He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2006 with a degree in Geology.[6][7]

He is on the board of directors of CommonHope, a Guatemala-based non-profit focused on poverty reduction[8] and is the president of the Philotimo Foundation.[9] He has one child.[10]
